With the onset of summer in Boulder comes many iconic experiences – bikes rides down Boulder Creek path, enjoying al fresco dining on patios on Pearl Street, hikes up Mt. Sanitas, and of course, the start of gardens and fresh, organic produce.

As your local, independent, neighborhood  grocer, we are dedicating the month of June to organics.  So please join us for a series of fun events, educational panels, and tastings here at Alfalfa’s for the month of June.  Knowledge is power, and it starts with knowing your food!

There will be an educational panel on June 28th from 7:00-9:00pm in our community room. There’s no RSVP needed, it will be an open forum type experience – be sure and stop by! We will have leading people in the following industries to maintain the panel’s discussion:

Local Organics ~ We’ll be taking a look at local organics from the growers and manufacturers’ viewpoints. Get to know your local food producer and understand the importance of organic growers in your own neighborhood.

Organics and the Family ~ With the help of leaders in the industry, we’ll be exploring how an organic lifestyle fits in with the family and moms-to-be. With tons of facts and information, we’ll discuss the importance of organic food as a formative part of a healthy living.

History of Organics ~ With some of the founders of the organic industry leading our discussion, we’ll look into the history of organics – how it was created and how it has shaped us today.

• Robyn O’Brien – founder of AllergyKids as well as being an acclaimed author, public speaker, food activist, strategist, and mother of four
• Linda Lipsius – co-founder and CEO of Teatulia
