The founder of Fantasy Orchids, Stan Gordon, will shy from a camera lens, preferring to leave those moments to his business partner and son, Kent. Yet, Stan will talk in detail about Orchids without a moments hesitation, and a slight smile of delight. It all started when he bought an Orchid when his daughter was born. Twenty-five years later she is all grown up and Stan is one of the largest local Colorado Orchid growers in a thousand mile radius.

Orchids take time. Years. Most flowers grow from seed to blossom in a matter of months, but an Orchid can take up to four years. So when you buy a flowering Orchid, you are buying years of long care and patience. As Stan has said, “Most people talk of stopping to smell the flowers and don’t. Here we can’t help but take it slow.”
