Floral Partner
“Flowers enhance our lives and the world around us,” says Bruce Daniel, the Owner of Stevens and Sons, located in Arvada, CO.
It was when Bruce bought the old, worn feed scale from a north Denver store closing its doors, that he knew Stevens and Son was going to be a success. In 1977, they only sold carnations. Bruce got the scale five years later. Now, they grow French tulips, Calla Lilies, Hyacinth, as many as 180 different Roses, Sunflowers, and so much more.
They give credence to the value of growing Local. When they are considering a new flower, they spend a season growing it in house in order to test its viability and resilience in the Colorado climate. If it makes the cut, so to speak, then you know that a Stevens and Son flower is one worth sharing.
Bruce says, “We are not looking to compete with the smaller farms.” That is why you can’t buy direct from Stevens and Sons, but you can get them at Alfalfa’s.
